William (Bill) N. Robertson, 75, of Haskins, OH, previously of Toledo, passed away at his home on February 18, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. Bill was born in Toledo on April 5, 1948, to the late Max R. Robertson and Victoria Kajca-Robertson (Kuhn). Bill was also preceded in death by his daughter: Desiree Robertson; daughter-in-law: Veronica Robertson; and siblings: Rosemary Robertson, Lois Jean Noack, and Max Robertson.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 52 years: Debra Bowers Robertson; his sister: Dana Giesey; his sons: Bill (Lisa) Robertson and Michael (Esmeralda) Robertson; his nieces and nephew, who Bill and Debra raised as their own: Jammi (Kevin) Gunter, Nickoel Bowers, William (Allie) Bowers, and Kori Bowers; grandchildren: Samantha, Tyler, Ethan, Kristen, Kelli, Olivia, Kateri, Isabella, and Liam; great-grandchildren: Elliot, Ezekiel, Rowan, and Olivander; and numerous nieces, nephews, dear friends, and extended family.
Bill excelled at multiple interests over the years, including hunting, fishing, trap & skeet, billiards, and bowling. However, nothing brought more joy or bigger smiles to Bill’s life than spending time with his family. His most cherished memories were camping with his sons, fishing with Smitty and Ray, traveling across the country with his beautiful wife, sitting by the fire with his grandchildren, spending family gatherings with his nieces and nephews, and a monthly dinner and movie with his sister, Dana.
Bill was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving on the USS Guam (LPH-9), an Iwo Jima-class amphibious assault ship. Bill spoke of fond memories serving and traveling to different ports around the world. In June of 1970, after a devastating earthquake that killed 70,000, Bill and his shipmates sailed to the coast of Peru, providing supplies and medical relief to thousands of victims. Bill was honorably discharged shortly after.
