Virginia Lee Burchell

Virginia Lee Burchell, born on November 18, 1931, in Dearborn, MI, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2024, in Toledo, OH. Known fondly as "Granny," Virginia lived a life rich with love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit.

Virginia was a vibrant soul with a passion for gardening, playing bingo, and coloring. She had a special fondness for anything sweet, particularly chocolate, and enjoyed the comfort of fried chicken. An ardent fan of country and Christmas music, she often found joy in the melodies that accompanied her daily life.

Throughout her journey, Virginia was married nine times, with her last husband, Eugene Burchell, passing away in 2008. She was a devoted mother to her four children: Peck, Karen, Patricia, and Shane. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Christopher, Carrie, and Jenny, as well as her great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Brittany, Lauren, Kaylee, Tatum, Kimberly, Madison, Isaiah, and Bryson. She is survived by her son Shane, granddaughters Jenny and Carrie, and all of her great-grandchildren.

Virginia's life was marked by her love for friends and family, as well as her genuine kindness toward everyone she met. She was a beloved figure in her community, having owned and operated a bar in Oskaloosa, Kansas, for many years. Her spirit shone brightly as she embraced her role as Mrs. Claus, delighting children and adults alike during the holiday season.

An avid sports fan, Virginia cheered for the Kansas City Chiefs and enjoyed watching football in the company of her loved ones. Her favorite pastimes included indulging in her favorite TV shows like "Law & Order," Lifetime, National Geographic, and Disney.

Virginia's favorite place to be was anywhere she could go shopping, and she brought joy to those around her with her sweet demeanor and genuine warmth. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
