Tammam (Mamie) Haddad passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 1, 2024, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Aita el Foukhar, Lebanon, 95 years ago to a large family with 9 siblings. Tammam was preceded in death by her parents, George and Nimree Haddad, all 8 of her siblings, and many dear family members and friends. She enjoyed sharing stories about her life in Lebanon and of her travels to America. Tammam was a remarkable woman with a deep passion for cooking, crocheting and knitting, and a zest for life.
Tammam spent most of her adult life in Toledo, Ohio, happily raising her three children, Keith, Kevin, and Karen, and watching over her grandchildren. She was known for her excellent cooking and baking skills and loved having family and friends crowded around her table. She cherished her role as a mother and took great pride in providing for her family. Tammam's dedication to her family was unwavering. Her love and support knew no bounds.
Tammam's kitchen was a place of warmth and love, where she would tantalize the taste buds of those fortunate enough to sample her delicious creations. Her grandkids will remember eating wonderful Lebanese meals with her, tea parties, watching game shows and soap operas with her, and always getting an extra helping at meals, even when they never asked for one.
Tammam possessed a kind and gentle nature that touched the lives of all who knew her. She had a radiant smile that could light up any room. She has left behind a legacy of love, warmth, and strength that will continue to be treasured by those fortunate enough to be part of her life. Tammam was an active member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral and the Ladies Benevolent Society.
Tammam will be dearly missed by her children, Keith (Rita) Haddad, Kevin (Kathleen) Haddad, Karen (Joe) Ledesma; grandchildren, Anthony (Amy), Ben (Katie), Emily, Andrea, Christopher, Tatiana (Sean), Cassandra (Kyle), and Gabriella; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and friends and neighbors who were so special to her.
Friends are invited to visit at St. George Cathedral, 3754 Woodley Rd., Toledo, Ohio, on Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm with Trisagion prayers at 7:00 pm. On Monday, February 5, 2024, visitation will begin at 10:00 am at St. George Cathedral with the funeral service at 11:00 am. The entombment will be at Toledo Memorial Park.
