Richard Eugene Clark, age 84, passed away on December 29th, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. Richard leaves behind his dear devoted friend Tawfig Albarkat (Zack), sister-in-law Teresa Clark. He also leaves behind his brothers: Michael William Clark (Cathy) of Murray Kentucky, James Dean Clark (Carolyn) of Fort White Florida, Dennis Raymond Clark (Dana) Toledo Ohio, Nephews and Nieces Ryan Matthew Clark (Krista), Ross Alan Clark, Rhett Daniel Clark (Tori), Sandy Laytart, Cheri Schwartz, Scott Clark, Jason Kuras, Stacy Anderson (Eric), Lisa Smith, and many great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Eugene Barbour and Elizabeth Clark and Brother Jon Wayne (JC) Clark.
Richard loved life, his family and working in his yard. He had a way of making flowers grow and decorating for Christmas, playing games on the computer and of course His Detroit Tigers and Lions! He was an avid bowler and proudly displayed rings of his three “300” games. He had a renowned sweet tooth specifically for donuts and pie.
Richard graduated from Central Catholic High School where he became involved in Jerry DePrisco’s glee club. He became an entertainer in the early 1960’s until 1997. His professional name was “Dean Clark” where he performed in many cities across the United States. Big Al’s in Toledo, Ohio and Pat O’Brien’s in New Orleans, Louisiana and some of his favorite locations in Louisville, Phoenix and Boston. In 1997 he returned home to take care of his mother. Prior to his return home he recorded his album “Impossible Dreams” with the Boston Pops Symphony. He was inducted into the Central Catholic High School Music Hall of Fame on July 24, 2016, and was accompanied by his great nephew Ryan Laytart. He encouraged his nephews to explore their musical talents and loved to jam with them on his visits. He loved music so much that while recovering from a major illness (2014), Ross and Rhett convinced him to sing Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen), regaining his musical confidence and creating a memory for his family.
After retiring from the professional scene, he worked many jobs, but he really loved working for Schaeffer Pharmacy, where he was known as the “Singing Delivery Man”. His customers looked forward to his arrival with anticipation of a song to brighten their day.
Richard was the best Uncle to his Nieces and Nephews! He was often found traveling across the country just to make it to Christmas. Weddings were always attended. If you arrived at his home in Toledo, you could almost guarantee he would be staring out the kitchen window at you, making one of his many hilarious faces. Every holiday or gathering could not just have serious photos… no, Uncle Perchie always had to have a “funny face” photo as well. Richard loved his family and friends deeply and he will be missed by all who knew him not to mention George.
A celebration of life will be planned at a future date.
