Rebekah Atkin Obituary

Rebekah L. Atkin, 68, passed away on January 6, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Rebekah was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 3, 1957, to Marion and Barbara Seiple, who preceded her death. She attended Waite High School and lived in Toledo all her life.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Scott R. Atkin, children Sarah (Greg) Crana, Stacey Atkin, Michael (Anna) Atkin, grandchildren Brandon (McKenna) Abernathy, Bryce Atkin, great grandson Kai Abernathy, and siblings Mark (Gayle) Seiple, Scott Seiple, and Julie Lineberry, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Rebekah’s greatest joy was spending time with her family.  She was lovingly known as “Memom” by those who were closest to her.  She never missed a high school football game when her grandson was playing. Some of her hobbies were crocheting, cross stitching, quilting, playing the piano, coloring, and writing letters as part of her volunteer work. She loved to watch the Detroit Tigers and Dallas Cowboys on TV.  She also loved camping and visiting Marblehead Lighthouse to sit near the lake.

She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on June 17, 1972, and was an active member of the Riverview Congregation in Toledo, Ohio her entire life. Her hope for the future helped her endure her challenges.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Mercy Family Practice, the staff, nurses and respiratory therapists at Mercy Perrysburg Hospital, especially her favorite nurse who she nicknamed “Sunshine”, and her amazing home health aide Morgan.

A memorial service will be held on January 25, 2025, at 1pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 224 Lemoyne Road, Northwood, Ohio.
