Obituary of Nanette Penny Liggins
November 24, 1956 – November 2, 2025
Nanette Penny Liggins, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully entered eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unshakable devotion to her family. Born on November 24, 1956, to Ruth Nanette Coffey and Andrew Lee Wilson, Nanette’s life was marked by resilience, compassion, and a beautiful ability to bring people together.
Nanette was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Tyrone Liggins; her sisters Annette Mathews, Shanon Coffey, and Ruthann Coffey; and her grandson, Calvin L. Gholikely. Though she endured seasons of loss, she carried each memory in her heart with grace and courage.
Nanette leaves to cherish her life and legacy her four devoted children: Nicole Gholikely, Calvin Gholikely, Preston Reasonover, and Shonda Gray Moss. She is also survived by her brothers, Keith Douglas and Richard Coffey; her sister, Krystal Coffey; more than twenty cherished grandchildren; fifteen precious great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved her deeply.
Known for her warm smile and her nurturing spirit, Nanette found joy in simple pleasures—playing cards with laughter around the table, listening to the music that spoke to her soul, and cooking meals that brought her family together. Her home was a place of comfort, filled with the aroma of her cooking and the sound of love echoing through every room.
Nanette’s life was a testament to strength and perseverance. She touched countless hearts, not only through her kindness but through her unwavering dedication to her family. Her presence was a blessing, her love was steadfast, and her memory will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who knew her.
Her family rejoices in knowing she is reunited with loved ones who have gone before her, and they honor her today with gratitude for the beautiful, irreplaceable gift she was.
May her soul rest in peace, and may her love live on forever.
