Monalisa Gonzell Scott

Monlisa Gonzell Scott, age 72, passed asway April 10, 2023.  Monalisa was born September 8, 1950, in Norfolk, Virginia to John Robert Scott, Sr. and Mary Hurt-Scott and raised in San Diego, California.  Monlisa like to be called Mona. Mona was the first of 10 children:  Marlette; Melissa; John, Jr.; Medissa; Marcelle; Johnathan; Mary; Mardeet; and Jurard. 

Mona received. her education through Norfolk Unified School in Virginia; and San Diego Unified School in California.   

Mona worked for Brocks Candies; Pizza Hut; as a Security Guard: and numerous other jobs.

In addition to her parents, Mona is preceded in death by" Husband Sterling Norman; Daughter Annette Palmer-Booth; Sister Medissa Scott; and Neice Alia Gill.

She is survived by La Cherl (Michael) Campbell-Street; Michael Maurice Finkle, Jr.

Mona enjoyed sewing, singing, food, crocheting decorative covers, traveling to different cities, and arts and crafts.  She was a fun-loving individual who loved life to the fullest.   Anyone she encountered became her friend and she made you feel that the dun and stars were shining upon you.  Mona knew how to capture you heart with a wink of her eye and the sway of her petite body and that infectious laugh.

Mona will be truly missed by her family and all she left behind.  Our hearts are saddened by this unexpected void in our lives.  She truly was one of a kind woman, mother, sister, grandmother, and auntie.

A memorial service will be held May 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Habegger Funeral Services located at 2001 Consaul Street, Toledo, Ohio 43605.
