Michael Jones Obituary

Michael O. Jones, 80, died January 26,2023 at Toledo Hospital. His health had been failing since suffering a stroke
and later pneumonia last year.
He was born July 22, 1942 in Champaign-Urbana, Ill. His parents, Eddie T. Jones, Jane Caroline Westlin Jones and sisters Barbara Gearhart and Anne Garcia predeceased him.
Mike graduated from Central Catholic High School and attended the University of Toledo. He was a staff writer for The Blade, primarily covering police and courts. He retired in 2005.. He has since been an instructor at Driver Intervention Programs and as the Public Information Officer for Sylvania Township.
He is survived by his wife, Monica Young M.D.; son Michael (Brianna) Ft. Collins, CO; daughters Rachel Geddes (Ben M.D.) Chattanooga, Tn, Sarah, Denver, CO. ;Matthew, Columbus, Oh; and four grandchildren.
