Maurice A Davis

Maurice A. “MAD Dog” Davis, 72, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2023, following a battle with pancreatic cancer. Born July 2, 1950, to Clifford B. and Martha E. (Schwartz) Davis, a dearly beloved father, grandfather, union brother, and teacher will be greatly missed. Native to the East side of Toledo, Maury attended East Side Central and Macomber Vocational High School. Immediately upon his graduation as a MacMan of Electrical Construction in 1969, he began working at Toledo Stamping, earning his Journeyman's card as an Industrial Electrician and serving as UAW Steward and Chairperson prior to retiring from Toledo Technologies, Precision Components Division (GT Technologies) after over 30 years. A lifelong hard worker who valued education, Maury also held a second career as an Instructor at Owens Community College for 28 years, where he had been described as “the most genuine man.” A devoted family man and sports fan, particularly of the Ohio State Buckeyes, he could typically be found watching football with his grandson, spending time with his daughters, or playing with his dog. He will be forever remembered by his daughters, Heather Davis, Alesha (Anthony) Davis-Vance, and Danielle Davis; grandson Gabe McNeal; and cousin Kathy (Keith) Forster. A celebration of life will be held at 1pm on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Black Forest Cafe at Oak Shade Grove, 3624 Seaman Rd, Oregon, Ohio.
