Marcia Jeane Hazlett

Marcia Jeane Hazlett, 65, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away in Toledo Hospital on October 20, 2023 after a brief illness. Marcia was born on July 31, 1958, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to John W. and Eleanor (nee Zdrojewski) Hazlett. After moving to Toledo in 1967, Marcia attended St. Hedwig elementary and Woodward High Schools. Growing up in the house her grandfather and her mother lived in gave Marcia a strong sense of family and community. Marcia remained a member of St. Hedwig parish for many years, and had accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Marcia served as a caregiver for the developmentally disabled in a variety of roles in multiple residential institutions in the Toledo area. Her compassion and dedication to her work were noteworthy and she was held in high regard by coworkers and families alike. A lifelong lover of animals, Marcia had fond memories of her dogs Sparky, Beaver, Barry White, and Baby Lou. A music fan, Marcia attended live concert events throughout her life, traveling to see the Rolling Stones live during several of their tours. Of all the things Marcia held most dear, she valued her family the most and cherished opportunities to gather, particularly during holidays. She was preceded in death by both her parents, and leaves behind her beloved son Bradley, his half-brother Ryan Hall, brothers Wesley John and David Kennedy Hazlett, sisters-in-law Linda and So Yong Hazlett, nephews Wesley, John, and David Hazlett, niece Allison Jeane Osborn, grand-nephew August Kennedy Osborn, grand-niece Maeve Nari Hazlett, and a number of extended family members and dear friends. All who knew Marcia will miss her tremendously, especially her optimism and sense of humor, even as her health declined in recent years.
