Linda Kennedy Obituary

Linda Kay Kennedy, 68, of Maumee, OH, passed away at home on September 2, 2025. She quietly battled cancer, but her journey ended sooner than expected.

Linda was born in Marysville, OH on February 24, 1957, to Shirley (Bosart) Kennedy. Her grandmother, Nella, helped to take care of her and they became close. In her younger days she enjoyed choir, band, and church youth group. Linda was an avid reader, trivia queen and excellent proof-reader. She sang many specials in church, was a part of the choir and was a remarkable piano player. She had a way of playing old hymns in a spirited way that filled her family with much joy. Linda also loved all things baseball. She played softball for North Cove Boulevard Church of God and never missed watching a Detroit Tigers game. She also supported the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Linda was very involved with her nieces as they were growing up. She taught them card games, joined in all their birthday celebrations and was the dedicated “Trick or Treat” cohort year after year. She also loved her great-nephews and never missed an opportunity to lavish them in candy, teach them old, silly songs, and flip them in her arms.

Linda started at Travelers Insurance, then to Glass Specialty, as an Office Manager, until they were bought out. It was her favorite position overall. Lastly, she worked at the Ohio BMV for twenty plus years.

She is survived by her sister Debbie Guy (Clinton), her nieces Amanda (Michael) Stump and Amy Hoard (James Estep), great nephews Austin, Luke, and Elliott Stump, along with aunts and cousins.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Malcolm and Shirley Kennedy and her grandmother, Nella Bosart.
