Kiree Rashad Gray, beloved son, brother, loving father, uncle, and friend, who tragically lost his life on March 29, 2025, at the age of 35. Kiree was born on December 14, 1989, in Toledo, Ohio, to Alexis Lanier and Robert Gray Sr. His unexpected and senseless death has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
Kiree was a kind, loving, and vibrant soul, full of energy and life. He had a passion for singing and making people smile, often putting the happiness of those around him before his own. His infectious smile and laughter brightened every room he entered, and his generosity and compassion left a mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Above all, Kiree was a dedicated and loving father, whose greatest joy was spending time with his children. His unwavering love and devotion to them were evident in everything he did, and he will forever be remembered as a father who cherished his role in their lives.
Kiree is survived by his parents, Alexis Lanier and Robert Gray Sr.; his beloved children: Kiree Jr., Emauryon, RaKi, Kique, and Esmeralda; his siblings, Robert Gray Jr., Randle and DaQuan Gray, and his sister, Shaniqua Heflin (Ronnie Sr.); the mothers of his children, Briana, Rachel, and Meilana; as well as his loving uncle and aunt, Phillip Woodward and Audrey Jones, and his favorite aunts, Deborah Yowpp and Tammy Gray. He is also survived by his favorite cousin, Le'Satin Maggett, his bonus mom, Tina Miller, his very special friend, Paige, and his friend, Mamma Jay. Kiree’s family and friends are heartbroken by his passing, but his memory will live on in the countless lives he touched. The love and warmth he brought to the world will never be forgotten.
He was also a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews, who will carry his memory with them always.
He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Rakiah La'Sean; his grandmother, Charita Lanier; his great-grandmother, Delores Maggett; and his sister, LaTasha Dawson.
Kiree's life was tragically cut short by an act of violence, but the impact of his life will continue to be felt by all who loved him. His legacy will serve as a reminder of the importance of kindness, community, and love in a world that can sometimes be harsh.
A celebration of Kiree's life will be held on April 12, 2025, at The Refreshing Place, located at 2500 Nebraska Ave, Toledo, OH 43607. Family hour will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by the service at 12:00 PM. All who knew and loved Kiree are invited to come together to honor and remember his remarkable life.
