Jane LaVonne Myers has passed away on January 27, 2023 and is now awaiting the Return of Christ. She passed peacefully while asleep in her home of more than fifty years, in Risingsun, Ohio. She was born in Fremont, Ohio to Irvin Garfield Dymond and Mildred Blanche Dymond (nee Baker) on July 17, 1934. She grew up with her two brothers Jack Dymond and Ray Dymond and later with her younger sister Connie Greiner (nee Dymond). She shared many fond memories of her childhood spent with her two brothers Jack and Ray and her sister Connie. She remembers her father sitting in his favorite chair, smoking a cigar and listening to the Cleveland Indians games on the radio. She shared that when her sister was born, she thought she had a real live baby doll to help take care of. Jane spent her summers tending to her many flowers and plants in and around her home in Risingsun. She was an avid reader and would often trade books with friends and family. Jane found many avenues to feed her artistic side by arranging flowers, tying macrame’, sewing, crafting with wood, hand crafting primitive dolls and later took up painting. She found great satisfaction with decorating her home by painting and wall papering at various times, mostly when one of the children was going to graduate high school and a graduation party was planned. Jane started as a housekeeper at the LK Motel in Fostoria, Ohio in 1978 and was soon promoted to property manager, because of her strict adherence to the cleaning standards and excelled at that position until she retired in 1996. The motel was refranchised as a Days Inn in 1994 and Jane received an inspection score that placed her in the top 20 stores of the entire chain across the United States. Jane enjoyed family camping trips and on occasion without any vacation time, her husband would inform her to pack the camper, they were going camping and he simply drove to and from the campsite driving to and from his worksite usually around the Toledo, Ohio area, he was a carpenter by trade. Eventually once all the children left home, she and Dwayne established a permanent camp site at Wooded Acres Campground near Lindsay, Ohio which they enjoyed for many years. Jane was married on June 28, 1952 to Dwayne Allen Myers of Gibsonburg, Ohio at the Garfield Memorial Church of Christ in Gibsonburg. They had six children, William Allen Myers born 02/22/1953, Randy Ray Myers born 05/11/1954, James Irvin Myers born 04/18/1956, Julie Marie Myers (Jividen) born 02/18/1958, Rex Allen Myers born 02/02/1959, and Marguerite Jane Myers born 08/30/1960. She was preceded in death by her husband Dwayne 05/04/1999, Her son William 10/10/2021 and her son Randy 10/20/2021. Jane thoroughly enjoyed visits from all of her family and especially from her 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and yes, 3 great great grandchildren. Her faith was strong and her love for God was evident. The family will plan a “Celebration of Life” this summer, to commemorate her amazing life. We are encouraging all friends and family to attend and share memories and the special bond she made with each person.
