Gloria Rose Merrill, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, left this world on October 20, 2025, at Three Meadows Post Acute Care in Perrysburg, Ohio, at the age of 66. She was born on April 24, 1959, and throughout her life, she was known for her strong will, resilience, and determination.
Gloria bravely battled cancer but, in her own peaceful way, decided it was time to rest and join her sister, Patty (Keith) Williams, in heaven.
She worked for Cedar Point for a time and cherished simple joys—working on crossword puzzles, enjoying cookouts with her fellow roommates, and taking walks to the park. Gloria was a proud Ohio State Buckeyes fan and often playfully debated with her primary care physician, Dr. Joanne Shaw, who rooted for the University of Michigan.
Her family bonds were deeply rooted in love and loyalty. She shared relationships with her sister Leola Wetzel, and brothers Raymond and Ronald Merrill. Gloria was a loving aunt to Nichole (Steve) Miller, Joseph (Abigail) Wetzel, Jeffery Merrill, and many other cherished nieces, nephews, and young ones who brought joy into her life. Her kindness and laughter also touched many friends, including Michael Brown and Robert Stutler.
She was especially cared for and loved by Tracy Price (Delores Place Assisted Living) and Kelly Cordrey, who stood beside her with compassion and devotion. A special thank you is extended to Three Meadows Post Acute Care and to Dr. Joanne Shaw for their continuous care, kindness, and support.

A Loving Reflection
My Dear Girl,
This life brought you many challenges, but through them all, you remained resilient. You learned to be like water—gracefully moving through the storms that tried to break you. You learned to fight when others counted you out, and to love when love felt far away. When the world pressed against you, you became fire—strong, bright, and unyielding.
Through it all, your heart stayed pure, your spirit kind, and your soul unshaken. You were a light that could not be dimmed, and your strength will continue to inspire those who knew you.
Your gentle presence and unwavering spirit touched everyone who was lucky enough to know you. Through every challenge, you inspired us with your courage and warmth. You taught us the value of small joys and the power of laughter, reminding us to cherish every moment together. Even as you rest now, your love continues to guide and comfort us, forever holding a special place in our hearts.
