Gerrie Cole, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026, at Otterbein Sunset House. She was born on May 3, 1936, in Prescott, Arizona.
Gerrie graduated from Bowling Green High School with the Class of 1954, where she made history as the school’s first mascot, “Bobby the Bobcat.” She went on to attend the School of Nursing at The Ohio State University, beginning a lifelong career in the medical field. Gerrie dedicated many years to caring for others, with her final position held at Toledo Memorial Park.
She was also a proud member of the Glass City Toledo Mothers of Twins Club and the Toledo Mothers of Twins Club.
Gerrie is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Jim; her son, Craig (Chris) Cole; her daughters, Cathi (the late Scott) Cline and Christi (Jeff) Kozak; four grandsons; and seven great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of Gerrie’s life will be held on May 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at First Christian Church of Sylvania, with Pastor Ernie Unholz officiating with a luncheon following immediately after.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to First Christian Church of Sylvania.
