George Huether Obituary

George J. Huether passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on May 26. Born on Oct. 4th, 1941 to August and Margaret (St. Clair) Huether in Fostoria, Ohio. In his teens he lived with Sherman and Thresa Michael, of Fremont. He was a 1960 graduate of Ross High School. Retired from Atlas Ind. of Gibsonburg, after working for 53 years, as a toolmaker. He loved spending time at their cabin in Pa. coached daughters softball teams, shooting pool, playing corn hole. He enjoyed telling stories and being a jokester, with family and friends. Spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren was one of his favorite things to do. On December 19, 1980, he married Lina (Maynard). Survivors include, his wife of 42 years Lina. Children, Jodi Witte,Gibsonburg, Kelly (Matt) Fudge, Gibsonburg. Michelle (Robert) Marshall, Milton, Wi., Michael Huether, Fremont, Matthew (Danielle), Clyde, Marlo (Kurt) Mayle, Fremont. 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren. Brother-in-laws, Gary Maynard, Robert (Diana) Maynard, Robert Hamilton. Many nieces and nephews. He enjoyed many hours teaching, playing, and working with grandchildren, Justin(Anna) Witte, Aaron(Jessica) Witte, and Nathaniel Bach. Great grandchildren, Cooper and Quay Witte, and Grayson and Riley Witte. In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Melvin(Norma)Huether, Raymond Huether, Sisters Claudette Kay (Richard) Pahl, Mary Winans. Son-in-law James Witte and daughter-in-law Shirley Huether, great grandson, Isaac Huether. Mother and father-in law Elza and Alice Maynard Sister-in-law, Ora Jane Hamilton. A special thank you for the excellent care from Valley View Health Campus, Fremont, and ProMedica Hospice, Habegger Funeral Services Joe has requested that there should be no funeral.
