Frank J. Ambrozy Jr., 67 of Port Clinton, OH passed away May 11, 2024.  It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Frank Joseph Ambrozy Jr, better known as Joe Ambrozy, on Saturday, May 11, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer, while in hospice care and surrounded by his loved ones. Joe was 67 years old. He was born on August 18, 1956, to Frank and Mary Lou Ambrozy in Port Clinton, Ohio.

Joe was a retired Master Carpenter and Commercial Fisherman. He spent a lot of time making things with his hands and was an incredible artist. He enjoyed playing the guitar, hunting for mushrooms, taking his boat out on the river, and gardening, but most of all he loved to spend time with his grandkids who referred to him as Papa Joe. Being a grandpa looked good on Joe and he spent as much time as he could with his grandchildren Jesse, Chase, Oliver, Maeve, Eisley, Blaise, Sonny, and Finn who will greatly miss their Papa Joe. You could easily say that his greatest accomplishment in life was being a father and grandfather. Joe’s kind heart, infectious laugh, unwavering love for his family and friends, and his incredible talents will live forever with those that knew him.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Lou Ambrozy of Port Clinton and his brothers John and Jeff Ambrozy both of Port Clinton. He leaves behind his beloved children, Anthony (Chelsea) Ambrozy of Lorain, BethAnn (Brian Haer) Ambrozy of Oak Harbor, Madison Ambrozy of Port Clinton, and Frank Ambrozy III of Port Clinton, siblings Mark T. Ambrozy of Marblehead, Catherine M. Ambrozy of Port Clinton, and Martin R. Ambrozy of Charleston, SC and his lifelong best friend Denise Ambrozy of Port Clinton.

In place of any services, a celebration of life will be held to honor Joe’s memory. Details regarding the date and time of this gathering will be communicated to family and friends. The family would like to send a special thank you to Denise for caring for Joe throughout his battle with cancer. Joe leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will forever be treasured by those who had the privilege of knowing him and loving him.
