Donna Girdler

Donna Jean (VanDerVeer) Girdler passed away at the age of 71 on March 27th, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. She was a wonderful, loving, and caring mother and grandmother to her daughter and four grandchildren.

She retired from Findlay Industries and lived out her hobbies of beekeeping and wood working. She was a hard worker and loved being outside and going on long walks.

Donna was a dog lover and always a kid at heart. She taught her grandchildren to put Cheetos in their Mac n Cheese and showed them invisible Kool-Aid and told them their mom would think they were drinking water. Donna made the best honey cookies and honey butter and would send boxes of them as gifts to her family. She played with Legos with her grandchildren and enjoyed laughing and watching court shows, old 3 Stooges, Shirley Temple movies, forensic shows, and old classic cartoons in her free time.

Donna lived a frugal life and taught those around her the beauty of simplicity and sunsets. She was loving to her neighbors and always ready and willing to help others.

She is survived by her daughter – Lydia J. (Girdler) [Michael] Clark, brothers - David L. VanDerVeer, Michael D. [Rose] VanDerVeer and James D. VanDerVeer, granddaughter - Emily M. (Clark) [Timothy] Tew, grandsons - Zachary A. Clark, Anthony R. Clark and Timothy J. Clark and loving friend - Michael Jablonski.

She was preceded by her father - Robert Jay VanDerVeer, mother - Dorothy Irene (Grismore) VanDerVeer, brother - Steven Jay VanDerVeer and great-nephew - Aiden Michael Caskie. 

She now rests with God in Heaven and her preceded family. 

On April 8th, there will be a memorial for Donna given by Timothy Tew at the Hasson Cemetery at 1:00 P.M. followed by a celebration of life at Texas Roadhouse – the place where she enjoyed her recent birthday.
