Anthony Slater Obituary

Anthony "Tony" Charles Slater, 41, of Toledo, Ohio, unexpectedly passed away on March 16, 2023.

Tony was born in Racine, Wisconsin on February 8th of 1982 at St. Luke's Hospital to Randall and Luann Slater.  The family moved to Toledo, Ohio in 1985 where he resided until his passing.  Tony attended Whitmer High School where he pursued Automotive Technology through a vocational training program.  He went on to graduate High School in the year 2000 where he decided to continue his career in the Automotive Industry.

Tony was a man of many things; He was a son, brother, husband, partner, loving father, friend and neighborhood mechanic.  He was genuine, thoughtful, hardworking, funny but most of all he was kind.  He would be the one to call if you needed a hand, he was the one you could lean on if you were feeling weak and he was the one that could make you laugh if you were feeling down.  And while Tony may no longer walk the earth among us may you find comfort in knowing that someone who has touched the hearts of so many others will never be forgotten.

Tony was preceded in death by his mother, Luann Slater and his wife, Kayleigh Slater.  He is survived by his father, Randall Slater, his brother, Justin Slater, his sister, Angelic Peterson, his two children, Kearstin and Braxton Slater, his partner Jaye Dempsey and his dog, Chapo.

Visitation will be held at Habegger Funeral Services, 2001 Consaul St., Toledo, OH 43605 on Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the funeral ceremony at 6:00 P.M.

"Grief is Holy.  So often we put joy on a platform and keep grief hidden in a back room, as though it is something to be ashamed of.  But, grief is a sign that we have loved, it tells the world we have been brave enough to share our hearts with another.  So, if you feel tempted to hide your sorrow, please remember grief is not the only price we pay for love, it is often the only thing we are left with to show we loved at all"
