Larry Howard Scott, 70, of Grand Rapids, OH passed away August 5, 2021.  Larry was born in Bowling Green, OH to the late Howard Scott and Lucy Mosher.  Besides his parents, Larry is also preceded in death by his brother: Jerry Scott; sister: Diana Houston.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 16 years: Colleen Scott; children: Shannon (Jessica) Scott of Green Springs, Corey Scott of Grand Rapids and Joshua (Kayann) Scott of Grand Rapids; grandchildren: Paige, Calianna, Chase, Emilee, Eliza, Avery, Olivia, Bryson, and Hudson; sister: Karen (Walt) Cwian of Anderson, SC, Julie (Fred) Parsons of Grand Rapids; brother: David Scott of Wilmington, OH; sister in law: Nancy Scott of Grand Rapids; various nieces and nephews.

Larry was a 1969 graduate of Otsego High School and Penta County Vocational School. He was the owner of Howard’s Body Shop in Grand Rapids. After selling the business he worked at various body shop and auto parts. Ending his career along side his brother Jerry at Howard’s Auto Parts, Grand Rapids. He was a volunteer fire fighter with Grand Rapids Township Fire Department and had a lengthy dirt track racing career. He was a member of Alva N. Sidle American Legion Post #232. He enjoyed going to the casino, watching his son Josh race and especially spending time with his grandchildren. Papa will always be in our hearts.

Larry’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

A Celebration of Life open house will be held at Hosanna Lutheran Church, 23019 Kellogg Rd., Grand Rapids, OH on Tuesday August 10, 2021 from 3:00 until 7:00 P.M. with a meal following.  Memorial contributions in Larry’s honor may be made to Otsego Athletic Boosters.

    So sorry to hear of Larry’s passing. I’ll miss his joking comments and wheeling and dealing with him on auto parts. I’ll also miss talking auto racing with him. He will be missed. RIP
