Obituary
John Lisk, 71, died on Sunday, February 14, 2021. He was a lifelong Toledo area resident. He is survived by his wife, Debbie; and his sons Patrick (Sara), and Andrew (Julia). He also had 4 grandchildren, Owen, Ryan, Rowan, and Griffin. He had one sister, Virginia Papenfuss, and brothers Leo, Joe, Fred, and Robert.
He was proceeded in death by his father, John Lisk; and his mother Ruth Cowden Lisk.
John graduated from Woodward High School and attended the University of Toledo. He served as a military Police Officer in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from the CSX Railroad.
He loved all sports. He was a huge fan of the Detroit Tigers and the Lions. Friends and family could count on him for all types of trivia, especially history. He always made himself available to anyone who needed him. He loved to read, travel, and being a live sports spectator. His passion was being a grandpa. As Pa, he cuddled, read to, and entertained his kids. Using his motorized wheelchair, he gave rides for summer entertainment.
Due to Covid, there will be no visitation or services. The family asks that anyone who would like to honor John’s memory, make donations to the Michael J Fox Parkinson’s Foundation (Michaeljfox.org), or to Hospice of Northwest Ohio (hospicenwo.org).
