Carolyn Ann Shedden was born on December 27, 1960, and was born the fourth child of the late Raymond and Jean Shedden. Like all of the girls, she was a blond and blue-eyed beauty who passed into the presence of Jesus in August 2021.
She was a graduate of Albany Business College with an Associate's degree in business administration and computer programming, and from the University of Toledo with a BA in accounting and business administration.
Professionally, Carolyn worked at Key Bank in various management roles for over 33 years. She was cited many times for her outstanding work and was greatly liked for her dedicated teamwork, work ethic, and joyful demeanor.
Carolyn was a member of the golden key honor society where she became actively involved in the community. She was a highly participating member of Toastmasters fulfilling many roles within the organization. Another passion was her work with March of Dimes. In addition to her community giving, she enjoyed making gift bags of toiletries for the needy, reading, gardening, going to the Toledo Zoo, the Toledo Museum, and visiting local lakes and parks. She was a member at Zion United Methodist Church serving as treasurer, singing in the choir, participating in hospitality, and fundraising.
Over the years, Carolyn began a love for classic cars. She was very proud of her 1969 Chevy Malibu and loved going to car shows. She was awarded trophies for displaying this at auto events.
More than any accomplishment or work accolade, Carolyn will always be remembered for her love of animals. Her passion for the care and well-being of her pets was paramount in her life. Carolyn could always be seen with one of her beloved cats or the 2 dogs that were her constant companions – Benjamin and Bear.
Carolyn leaves behind her mother, Jean Brace of Newfield, NY, her older brother Ray and wife Jackie (Lake Mary, FL), sister Rachael and husband Jeff Bean (Greencastle, PA), sister Rebekah and husband Ernie Mashburn (Oklahoma City, OK), sister Ruth and husband Ron Hilliar (Madill, OK), and younger brother Ross with Kelli (Newfield, NY).
