Obituary for Timmy A. Ackley

Timmy Alan Ackley, Aka "The Candy man", 53, of Toledo, OH passed away Friday August 23, 2019 at the Perrysburg campus of Hospice of Northwest Ohio after a valiant 25 month battle with pancreatic cancer. Timmy was born June 13, 1966 in Toledo, OH to the late Teddy Ackley, Sr. and the late Linda (Wall) Von Deylen.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Candy and Tammy Ackley; aunt Mable Wall; uncles Jerry Wall and Gene Fleck; and nephew Shane Von Deylen.

Timmy is survived by his wife of nearly 16 years: Kimberly; children Cassandran and Katreena Aiken, Samantha Fizer, and Edward Bubb II; brothers Teddy Ackley, Jr., Mike (Laura) Von Deylen and Scott (Beth) Von Deylen; sister Julia (Roy) Chase; father James Von Deylen; grandchildren Ice Noel, Kambree Aiken, Jolee White and Haylee Alexander; aunt Jean Fleck; cousins Geno (Dawn) Fleck, Toby Fleck and Shawn (Joe) Weppler; several nieces and nephews. Timmy is also survived by his fur babies Max, Bella and Mylo.

Timmy was proud to have worked for Apex Metal Fabrication and Machine for nearly 30 years as a painter/expeditor where he truly felt like part of the family.

Timmy loved camping, fishing and being outdoors. He cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. He was an avid Detroit Lions and Michigan Wolverines fan.

Timmy was a member of AA and was humbled to be sober since February 24, 1989. He was also a member of OneHope Chrurch.

Celebration of life services will be held Saturday September 7, 2019 at 2:30 P.M. at OneHope Church 4621 Glendale Ave. Toledo, OH 43614. To honor Timmy please wear NFL gear or Candy Man shirts.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Victory Center, Nightingales Harvest or Cancer Connection.

I First Met 2 Tone Timmy while working for Apex Metal Fab in 1998,My Rookie year on the job and I got the forklift stuck in the snow outside the gate,Timmy Came to my rescue,but we learned something that day,Timmy tied a chain up to the back of my Forklift,but needed some more Feet to get me pulled out,so he used a Strap to go with the chain,and while pulling me out,the Strap broke and The Chain came flying Over my head,if I woulda been a lil taller I'd be dead,but we laughed bout it,and Timmy Stated,Won't use a Strap Again,,Boy I almost crapped my pants that Day.. I remember Tim when I was a detox RN at St V’s. He always came to help the patients and take them to meetings. He used to sit on my porch with Bill Schrag. Bless you, Tim. Give Bill a big hug for me. The AA meeting in heaven. To Tim’s family, prayers. He was an wonderful man.
