Obituary for Charles E. Davis
Charles Edward Davis better known as "Big Chuck" was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 17, 1955. He departed his life on April 5, 2019 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center at the age of 64. He is preceded in death by his mother: Nancy Davis; father: Robert Davis Sr.; brother Robert Davis Jr. (Sweat); sister: Dorthey Davis (Dot); niece: Katherine Isaac; nephew: Van Davis.
Charles confessed his life in Christ at an early age. He was a member at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, where he served on the usher board. Charles attended Toledo Public Schools and graduated from Scott High School. Charles attended Owens Community College where he studied on becoming a Social Worker. Big Chuck enjoyed basketball, music, and spending time with his family and friends, those were some of his favorite past times. Charles was a helper who touched many lives. To his sons he was their "Super Dad".
Charles leaves to cherish his memory two sons: Jermaine Witcher, Roshawn Watkins; fiancé: Lisa Sumrow; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; nephews: Vincent, Victor (Lavay), Bobby, Corey; special nephew: Robert (Sophia) Parker, Terrell Braswell; nieces: Brandee, Nikki, Artesia; special niece: Sabrina Roberts; special friends: Jimmy Jack, Amos Saunders, Tyrone Watkins, Lindsey Harris; and a host of other friends and relatives.
Visitation will be held at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, 2001 Ashland Avenue, Toledo, Ohio on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wake services will be held also at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 12:00 P.M. with the funeral following at 1:00 P.M. Repass will immediately follow the funeral services.
