Janet Winters-SeemanFebruary 11, 1944 ~ August 20, 2017 (age 73)
Janet Virginia Winters-Seeman of Perrysburg, Ohio, died Sunday, August 20th, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She is survived by her spouse, Thomas Seeman; her brother Robert Meyer; her three children, Beth, Kirsten, and Jonathan; and by her grandchildren, Forrest, Justin, and Bernadette. Janet was preceded in death by her brother, Eugene, and by her first child, Brian, who died as an infant in Desē, Ethiopia.
Born to Adelbert and Lois Meyer of Woodville, Ohio, in 1944, Jan graduated from Capital University in 1966 and spent five years teaching in Ethiopia.
Jan retired from teaching at Solomon Lutheran School in Woodville, Ohio, in 2003 but continued in her teaching vocation through the tutoring of numerous students with dyslexia until just weeks before her death. She was an active member of Zoar Lutheran Church and played in the bell choir. She loved life and navigated the world with a deep sense of adventure, curiosity, and care for those around her.
A loving parent, grandparent, wife, sister, friend, and teacher, Jan will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
The funeral will be held at Zoar Lutheran Church in Perrysburg, Ohio on August 26, 2017 at 11 a.m. with a lunch to follow. Janet’s ashes will be returned to the earth near Holden Village, Washington. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Arrangements are entrusted with Habegger Funeral Services.
